Gwira Youth Development Association, a group in the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira constituency of the Western Region, has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to honour his promise of constructing the Gwira Anyinase to Gwira Wiawso Road.
Addressing a press conference by the Chairman of the Gwira Youth Development Association at Gwira Anyinase, Isaac Wandah Kwofie, said President Nana Akufo-Addo on August 18, 2020, during a campaign tour at Gwira Bamiankor cut-sod for the construction of Gwira Aiyinasi to Gwira Wiawso Road however the president has since failed to fulfil this promise.
The youth therefore demanded President Nana Akufo-Addo honour this promise before leaving power.
“On August 18, 2024, our president, Nana Akufo Addo visited Nananom at Gwira Bamiankor to cut sword for the construction of Gwira Anyinase to Gwira Wiawso road, hence the former road minister Amoako Atta also made a plea to complete Asaasetre to Gwira Banso road as well as Gwira Banso road. After the 2020 election in less than four months, the constructor was nowhere to be found.
“Thinking that the MP will look for the constructor, so they continue the work. We, the members of the Gwira Youth Development Association, are calling on President Nana Akufo Addo to honour his promise on the road. Consequently, in 2023, the former MCE Honourable Dorcas Mensah came to Gwira Bamiankor,” he stated.
