The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has dismissed as false a viral video circulating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) claiming he has endorsed the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The video, shared on November 28, 2024, by user Political Warden (khkayy27), appears to feature Mr Boamah urging voters to support him as MP in the December 7 elections while voting for NDC flagbearer John Mahama—a practice commonly referred to as “skirt and blouse” voting.
In a statement issued on Friday, November 29, Mr Boamah refuted the allegations, stating that the video, which includes a manipulated voiceover, is an AI-generated fabrication aimed at misleading the public.
He called on Ghanaians to disregard the video, describing it as malicious propaganda intended to tarnish his reputation and create division.
“Please disregard this false AI-generated content (video content) and propaganda published on social media which is levelled against me,” he said in the statement.
So some NPP MPs are preaching skirt and blouse. I just saw this video somewhere.
