The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), in collaboration with the University of Cape Coast (UCC), has launched two customised master’s programs (MSc & Mphil) in Customs Administration to strengthen knowledge in the service.
The Commissioner of Customs, Brigadier General Zibrim Ayorrogo, encouraged customs officers to take advantage of this opportunity to further their education in customs administration and stay current with global trends.
The programs will be managed by the University of Cape Coast’s School of Business, with lectures jointly delivered by senior customs officers and UCC lecturers.
“It’s important for all my customs officers to pursue education. For those without a first degree, this is an opportunity. In terms of promotions at certain levels in customs, a master’s degree is needed, and this will provide the right opportunity,” the Commissioner of Customs noted.
The provost assured customs officers and the public of their commitment to delivering quality, globally standardized content that will prepare students for the job market.
According to the Dean of the School of Business, Prof. John Gatsi, the course has undergone rigorous quality assurance and has been approved by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.
This programme adds to the numerous courses offered by the university, which contribute to knowledge development and research.
Application forms are now available to the public, with tuition set to commence in January 2025.
