Lawrence Kwasi Prempeh, an official at the Manhyia Palace has issued a stern warning to the general public from wearing any party paraphernalia when attending the 100th anniversary of the return of King Prempeh I from exile in Seychelles.
The event is scheduled to take place at the palace starting November 22 to November 24, 2024.
During a press briefing today, as part of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s Silver Jubilee, Kwasi Prempeh emphasised the need to maintain the non-partisan and respectful atmosphere of the royal grounds.
“What we are saying is that Otumfuo is not involved in politics. We are a traditional authority, so this is not the occasion for any political party to come and showcase their paraphernalia, so nobody will be allowed to come here with party colours.
“Nobody will be allowed to wear party t-shirt or paraphernalia of a party so let the party know that this is a major traditional event with foreign dignitaries attending we don’t want to see any poll-taker over here,” he said.
