Kwame Owusu Danso (KOD), the Vice Presidential candidate for the Movement for Change, has fiercely criticised the two main political parties in Ghana, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing them of failing to address the nation’s pressing needs despite over 30 years of combined governance.
During his six-day campaign tour of the Oti Region, KOD, a prominent lawyer, reiterated his belief that both parties, which have alternated in power for decades, have neglected key issues like poor infrastructure, soaring unemployment, rising living costs, and a faltering economy.
“For sixteen years each, the NPP and NDC have governed this nation, and what do we have to show for it?” KOD questioned.
“Ghanaians are still struggling with the basics poor infrastructure, skyrocketing unemployment, rising costs of living, and a failing economy. It is clear: the leadership of both parties has been ineffective.”
His remarks resonated with many in the Oti Region, where residents have long grappled with inadequate infrastructure and limited access to essential services.
KOD further emphasized that the constant back-and-forth between the NPP and NDC has failed to address these deep-rooted issues, leaving ordinary Ghanaians disillusioned and frustrated.
“For how long will Ghanaians keep switching between these two main political parties?” KOD asked. “They’ve had ample time, but the results speak for themselves. The country is still trapped in a cycle of poor governance.”
He cited the high cost of living, frequent power outages, and a struggling healthcare system as some of the urgent problems that need immediate attention.
He also pointed to the failure of successive governments to create enough jobs for the growing population, particularly the youth, as a major concern.
KOD passionately pleaded with the people of Oti Region and all Ghanaians to consider voting for the Movement for Change, a party he believes is committed to bringing transformative change to the country.
“The Movement for Change is not just a political party; it is a movement for the future of Ghana,” he declared. We are determined to break free from the past and implement a bold, transformational agenda to bring real relief to Ghanaians.”
