The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated the Republican Party and President-Elect Donald Trump, along with Vice President-Elect J.D. Vance, on their recent victory in the 2024 U.S. elections.

The NPP in a statement signed and issued on Wednesday by its General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong expressed its excitement over the election results, viewing them as a strong endorsement of the Republican Party’s vision and ideals by the American electorate.

The NPP commended the United States for demonstrating its democratic values through the peaceful conduct of the elections, highlighting the lessons Ghana can learn as it prepares for its own elections on December 7, 2024.

The statement emphasised the longstanding relationship between the NPP and the Republican Party, noting shared values and symbols, particularly the iconic elephant.

The NPP expressed hope that, like the U.S., it too would achieve victory in the upcoming polls, driven by a commitment to bold solutions for the nation.

In closing, the NPP reiterated its congratulations to the Republican Party and wished the incoming Trump administration success, looking forward to strengthening the ties between the two parties for mutual benefit.
