Some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), reportedly members of the party’s internal task force, disrupted a press conference addressed by the NDC’s National Organizer, Joseph Yamin.
The supporters expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership, accusing them of inaction regarding claims of individuals allegedly posing as military personnel in 32 constituencies in the Ashanti Region.
The NDC stated it had observed the deployment of military officers to 34 constituencies in the region, allegedly transported in disguised vehicles.
The party further alleged the importation of ballot boxes to some constituencies in the region, suggesting plans to rig the elections.
Addressing the press, Joseph Yamin warned that the party would not tolerate individuals hiding behind the military to instigate trouble. However, some party supporters were unhappy with the leadership’s handling of the issues.
In protest, the disgruntled supporters disrupted the press conference, pushing microphones to the floor and ordering the media to leave the venue.
