Mahama Ayariga, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, has secured a landslide victory in the just concluded general elections.

Representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ayariga’s triumph reaffirms his stronghold in the constituency, where he has long been a household name and a pillar of political leadership.

Ayariga garnered 25,350 votes out of the total ballots cast, decisively defeating his closest challenger, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate, Alale Paul Agobire, who managed to secure only 3,855 votes.

The significant margin of over 21,000 votes not only underscores Ayariga’s popularity but also highlights the overwhelming trust and confidence the people of Bawku Central have in his leadership.

Mahama Ayariga’s political journey has been one of resilience, service, and an unyielding commitment to his constituents.

First elected to Parliament in 2005, Ayariga has consistently been a strong voice for Bawku Central, advocating for development projects, better social amenities, and policies that address the unique challenges of his constituents.

Ayariga lost the 2008 contest to Adamu Dramani Sakande of the NPP but recaptured the seat in the 2012 general elections.
