Thirty-two (32) Chartered Accountants from the Ashanti and Ahafo regions, along with those who received their accountancy training in the Ashanti Region, have donated GH¢160,000 to support the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project.”

This initiative, spearheaded by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, aims to renovate and reshape the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, which is grappling with limited space and deteriorating infrastructure.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Dr. Robert Donaldy, one of the leaders of the Chartered Accountants, emphasised their commitment to community and national development.

He noted that the donation was inspired by the Asantehene’s call for collective support and aimed to motivate others to contribute to this significant cause.

“The motivation came from what Nana has put out there that everyone should come and support. We also felt the need to contribute, which is why we made this presentation to support the ‘Heal Komfo Anokye Project.’ We are impressed with the progress of work so far. Comparing the completed units to hospitals in advanced countries, there is no difference,” Dr. Donaldy remarked.

“From what my team and I have seen here, we are encouraging everyone to come on board and support this cause.”

Receiving the donation on behalf of the project committee, Samuel Adu-Boakye, Chairman of the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project,” expressed his gratitude, noting the donation’s timely impact.

He encouraged the Chartered Accountants to be ambassadors for the project and encouraged others to follow their example.

“We say a big thank you to our friends from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, who have come together to support Asantehene’s ‘Heal Komfo Anokye Project.’ Their contribution is very timely, and we are optimistic they will serve as witnesses and advocates for this project,” Adu-Boakye said.

He further urged Ghanaians to demonstrate patriotism and support such initiatives for national development.

“Everyone has to come on board. Let us all show patriotism and self-help so we can move our nation forward. To those yet to contribute, I encourage you to support this noble cause and help build Mother Ghana together.”

The “Heal Komfo Anokye Project” continues to attract significant contributions, driving the vision of transforming the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital into a modern healthcare facility for the benefit of all Ghanaians.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II launched the ‘Heal Komfo Anokye’ project in November 2023, to raise $10 million to put Ghana’s second-largest teaching hospital in a befitting shape.
