In a significant step towards enhancing transparency of the electoral process in Ghana, a citizen-driven digital platform called iCollate has been introduced to encourage citizens’ participation in polling stations results collation.

The platform is designed to empower Ghanaians to actively participate in monitoring and collating results to enhance the integrity of the electoral process.

Developed as an independent initiative by a Ghanaian ICT software establishment, Wigal Vision Ltd, the App allows users to upload polling station results, submit photographic and video evidence, and access real-time nationwide updates.

The App is available on the Google Play Store, Apple Store, iCollate.app and via shortcode *800*2024# for non-smartphone users.

The App comes at a critical moment in Ghana’s democratic journey, offering citizens a transparent and inclusive tool to hold the electoral process accountable.

Speaking about the App, the Project Lead for iCollate stated, “Elections are not only about casting votes but also about ensuring every vote is accounted for. iCollate is a collective effort by Ghanaians to protect our democracy and promote transparency. It’s a platform designed to enable citizens to take an active role in ensuring free and fair elections.”

iCollate operates independently and it is neither intended to project the winner of elections nor to usurp the powers of the Electoral Commission (EC) in any way.

It is not an official declaration platform but a tool to enhance collation of Polling Station results.

This initiative demonstrates the transformative role of technology in fostering democratic accountability. By enabling voters to independently record polling station results, iCollate ensures a credible and participatory electoral process by the People for the People and in the interest of the People.

Call to the Media

The media, as a cornerstone of democracy, is encouraged to utilize the iCollate App as a valuable resource for real-time updates on election results from polling stations across the country.

Journalists and broadcasters can access reliable data and visual evidence submitted directly by citizens, enhancing their coverage of the electoral process.

Moreover, the media is encouraged to promote the App among the public to maximize its reach and impact.

Through collaboration, the App can play a pivotal role in fostering transparency and public confidence in the electoral process.
