Joyce Bawah Mogtari, special aide to President-elect John Dramani Mahama, has urged Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the majority leader in parliament to accept the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) majority in the ninth parliament and show respect.
This follows contentions which surrounded which caucus of the house was majority following the contentions over the four vacant seats in parliament and the arguments that generated.
In an interview on Face to Face on Channel One TV on Tuesday, Mogtari emphasised the need for humility and cooperation moving forward.
“I will tell Afenyo, send your wounds out whatever you want, you are returning to parliament in a very distasteful manner, in a way that you did not imagine. You will now have to eat humble pie and respect that side that you so disrespect and abhor so much,” she stated.
Adding “Now we are fully in charge and I expect our parliamentarians to display to their best of their capacity and ability. Let Ghanaians know that the NDC is a broad-based party of mass appeal.”
