Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Senior Campaign Adviser to the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed confidence in the governing party’s strategy for the upcoming 2024 elections.
Speaking in an interview on the Point of View on Channel One TV on Wednesday, Agyepong highlighted the party’s plan to maintain its strongholds while making significant inroads into the core support base of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He underscored the NPP’s confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s ability to attract voters from traditionally NDC-dominated areas.
He stated that the party aims to leverage its achievements and the appeal of its candidate to secure a broader base of support across the country.
“The fact that he (Dr. Bawumia) will be able to eat into the core support of the NDC is a strong advantage for him. So we are now fighting the NDC on their turf. Places like Bono East, which were no-go areas, I think we will claim some seats there.”
“I do believe we will do better in the Northern regions. We will beat them in the Northern regions. We will hold our stronghold on the record that we have displayed over the last few years,” Agyepong stated.
