The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Weija Gbawe constituency, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has expressed confidence in securing an even larger victory margin in Saturday’s parliamentary election.
In the 2020 polls, outgoing Member of Parliament Tina Naa Ayele Mensah won the seat with a commanding 14,000-vote margin, defeating the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Cleyland Nii Ayaa Ayison.
Speaking ahead of the 2024 elections, Ahmed Shaib emphasized that while the 2020 margin was significant, his focus remains on surpassing it for an even more decisive victory.
“I believe that by God’s grace, I am going to be victorious. I am very confident but I am not complacent. We are praying and hoping that God is going to grant us victory, and the people of Weija Gbawe are going to repose confidence in us by voting massively for myself and my presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.”
“I am coming in as someone who has a 14,000 deficit, and therefore I intend to clear it and go beyond that.”
