The 2024 general election is currently underway across the country.
While some Members of Parliament opted out of the race earlier, others lost their re-election bid during separate parliamentary primaries organised by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The next Parliament, which will commence on January 7, 2025, will include both returning MPs and newcomers.
However, over 60 sitting MPs will not be returning to the House, as they were either defeated during their respective political party’s primaries or chose not to seek re-election.
