The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has raised concerns about alleged vote-buying activities by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency.
Dr. Apaak claims the NPP is offering financial inducements to voters to sway their choices in the ongoing polls.
He called on the Electoral Commission (EC) and relevant authorities to investigate and address the issue promptly, describing it as a threat to free and fair elections.
“We have received and are investigating reports that the NPP is using money to influence voters. People are stationed in households, hiding in corners, trying to incentivize voters. If our investigations confirm this, it must be condemned,” he told Citi News.
The MP emphasized his commitment to ensuring that the democratic process in Builsa South remains transparent and free from undue influence.
He urged heightened vigilance and strict enforcement of electoral laws to safeguard the integrity of the elections.
The NPP is yet to respond to these allegations.
