There was confusion at the University of Ghana campus between supporters of incumbent MP Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate John Dumelo over suspected vote-buying.
Supporters of John Dumelo claimed that some followers of the incumbent MP were allegedly distributing money to voters at the University of Ghana SRC Union building.
The incident led one of the NDC supporters to attempt to record the activity on video. However, NPP supporters resisted and demanded that the footage be deleted.

The incident escalated into a heated verbal exchange between the two groups.
The arrival of military officers in two pick-up vehicles angered the NDC supporters, who questioned the reasoning behind their deployment.
However, normalcy was restored after a meeting was held to resolve the matter.
