See some of the female MPs-elect who will serve in Ghana’s 9th parliament

Ghana’s 9th Parliament is poised to make history with a record-breaking number of female Members of Parliament (MPs).

A total of 41 women have been elected, representing a significant step forward in the country’s efforts to achieve gender equality in political representation.

Among the new female MPs are:

Ewurabena Aubynn – Ablekuma North (NDC)

Ernestina Ofori Dangbey – Agona West (NDC)

Ebi Bright – Tema Central (NDC)

Joana Gyan Cudjoe – Amenfi Central (NDC)

Prof Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah – Essikado-Ketan (NDC)

Lawrencia Dziwornu – Akuapem South (NDC)

Mavis Kuukua Bissue-Boateng – Ahanta West (NDC)

Rachel Amma Owusuaa – Dormaa East (NDC)

Naa Koryoo Okonor – Awutu Senya East (NDC)

Nasira Afrah Gyekye – Sekyere Afram Plains (NDC)

Emelia Arthur – Shama (NDC)

Jean Marie Formadi – Biakoye (NDC)

Felicia Adjei – Kintampo South (NDC)

Fatahiya Abdul Aziz – Savelugu (NPP)

Ida Adjoa Asiedu – Ayensuano (NPP)

Theresa Awuni – Okaikwei North (NDC)

These women will play a crucial role in shaping the country’s future, addressing the challenges facing their constituents, and contributing to national development.
