Ticket number “12870” has won the 2024 The Luckiest draw, securing the grand prize of 1 million Cedis.
Organised by GeniusLoci Limited and regulated by the National Lottery Authority, The Luckiest draw saw over 300,000 entries, with ticket number 12870 emerging as the winner for 2024.
The event, held on Saturday, October 30, 2024, at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, featured three categories: Community, Bonus, and the Luckiest ticket, along with other random winners.
In the Community category, the Filling Stations, Trotro, Prisons, and Jewelers communities were among the winners. The Bonus tickets category saw three random tickets winning 100 times their staked amount.
Three random winners, two men and a woman, received a chest freezer, microwave oven, and a 40-inch television set.
GeniusLoci Limited explained that the Community category included 100 communities classified into various groups such as artisanal, fisherfolks, police, journalists, kayayei, golfers, and CEOs, who participated by purchasing tickets ranging from One Ghana cedi to GHC5,000.
“The draw usually starts in July and ends in December, but this year we ended in November because of the elections next month. So we are using this opportunity to remind Ghanaians to vote peacefully because our peace is priceless,” said Dennis Adutwum, Managing Director of GeniusLoci Limited.
Adutwum also announced plans to extend The Luckiest draw to Nigeria and other West African countries next year. “We will test it in the surrounding countries before we take it to the North, East, and Western parts of Africa,” he told the media.
He added that the requirement for The Luckiest ticket next year will change from group participation to individual entries.
