The trade value for the third quarter represents a significant increase compared to the same period in 2023, when the total trade value was GH₵ 90.1 billion.
At that time, exports were valued at GH₵ 43.9 billion, and imports amounted to GH₵ 46.2 billion, leading to a trade deficit of GH₵ 2.3 billion.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, there was an uptick in trade, with a total trade value of GH₵ 105.2 billion.
This included GH₵ 55.7 billion in exports, GH₵ 49.5 billion in imports, and a trade surplus of GH₵ 6.2 billion.
The first quarter of 2024 saw further improvement, with a trade value of GH₵ 107.9 billion.
This included GH₵ 59.9 billion in exports and GH₵ 48.1 billion in imports, resulting in a trade surplus of GH₵ 11.8 billion.
In the second quarter of 2024, the total trade value rose again to GH₵ 123.7 billion, comprising GH₵ 64.9 billion in exports and GH₵ 58.8 billion in imports, leading to a trade surplus of GH₵ 6.1 billion.
