The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has expressed its unwavering support for President-elect John Dramani Mahama as he prepares for his upcoming tenure.

During a visit to the President-elect, the President of the GPCC, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, voiced confidence in Mahama’s leadership experience and capabilities. He encouraged Mahama to seize the opportunity to serve the nation with integrity and make decisions that would benefit the country as a whole.

Apostle Nyamekye emphasized the importance of impactful leadership and expressed hope that Mahama would continue to work for the greater good of the people of Ghana.

“We are here to assure you that the GPCC will continue to pray for you and will also make ourselves available to support your presidency. At the end of the day, we want Ghana to win, and we know that once he has selected you for us, He will use you mightily.

“We will make ourselves available, we will come to you from time to time, and anytime that we are invited, we promise to be here to share our mind and to discuss the development of this nation together,” he stated.

In response, President-elect John Mahama expressed his gratitude for their support and assured the Council that while some of the decisions he would make during his tenure may be harsh, they would be in the best interest of the nation.

“Even though we have an overwhelming majority, we still have to build consensus in the way we approach things. I am sure the people of Ghana gave us a huge endorsement so that we can take the bold decisions necessary to be able to begin the reforms that this country urgently needs.

“Some decisions might be unpleasant, and it will all be in the national interest because sometimes you are sick and sometimes you have to take bitter medicine to get well,” he stated.
