Clean-Jobs Resources Limited has issued a strong denial of recent allegations implicating the company in illegal mining activities at the Offin-Shelter Belt forest reserve.
In a press statement released on January 16, 2025, the company outlined its position and the steps it has taken to address the situation.
According to the statement, Clean-Jobs Resources Limited was granted a forest entry permit to undertake an off-set reforestation project in degraded portions of the Offin-Shelter Belt forest reserve.
The company emphasised its commitment to sustainable practices and environmental regulations, aiming to rehabilitate the affected areas.
Upon commencing operations, Clean-Jobs claims to have discovered unauthorised mining activities allegedly conducted by individuals associated with an entity called BAM Mining and Construction Limited.
Clean-Jobs Resources Limited indicated that investigations revealed no mining lease had been issued to BAM Mining and Construction Limited for activities in the area.
The company said it promptly reported the illegal mining activities to both the District Forestry Service Division and the Divisional Police Command and said no immediate action was taken by the authorities at that time.
Clean-Jobs also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and cooperation with relevant authorities to ensure that illegal activities in the Offin-Shelter Belt forest reserve are addressed.
