President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to embark on a one-day working visit to The Gambia on January 17, 2025.
The visit will see President Mahama received by his counterpart, President Adama Barrow at the Banjul International Airport – marking the start of diplomatic engagements between the two leaders.
President Mahama will be hosted by President Barrow at a state luncheon.
The two heads of state will hold a private meeting, during which they are expected to discuss strategies for strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and The Gambia, with a focus on enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, security and development.
In a release posted on Facebook on January 16, The State House of The Gambia outlined that the discussions will centre on fostering deeper ties between the two countries, ensuring mutual growth and collaboration.
The visit is seen as an important step in reinforcing the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Ghana and The Gambia.
This diplomatic trip comes at a time when both countries are seeking to solidify their partnership and address key regional and international issues.
It is expected that President Mahama’s visit will pave the way for further cooperation, benefiting both countries and their people.
