The wife of Ghanaian journalist Kofi Adomah has confirmed that he is in stable condition after sustaining an eye injury caused by an accidental musketry discharge during a ceremony in Dormaa.

Reports indicate that Kofi Adomah was struck in the eye by gunpowder residue when shots were fired as part of the traditional musketry display.

He was reportedly positioned near the area of the firing when the incident occurred, though the exact timing remains unclear.

In a Facebook post on January 15, Miracle Adomah, his wife, expressed gratitude for the support they have received and shared her optimism for his recovery. She wrote:

“Sorry I can’t respond to the numerous WhatsApp calls on my phone and that of my husband now. Currently, he is stable and we hope for the best. Thanks for the care.”

Kofi’s former colleague, Afia Pokuaa, also confirmed his stable condition in a separate Facebook post. She disclosed that the injury occurred during a traditional event where Kofi was present for work, describing it as an unfortunate accident involving musketry.

She expressed gratitude to God for His mercies and urged Ghanaians to continue praying for Kofi’s full recovery.

“Bless you for all your prayers. Kofi Adomah is stable🙏🏾 He was hit by pellets from shots fired during a traditional event @ Dormaa while working. Glory to God for his mercies.
Continue to send your prayers Up To The Heavens 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 God remains on the throne‼️“
Kofi is currently undergoing treatment in Dubai.
