The Appointments Committee of Parliament is set to vet five ministerial nominees today, Tuesday, January 28, as part of the process to approve individuals designated for key government positions by President John Dramani Mahama.

The vetting will begin at 9:00 am with Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, the Minister-designate for Defence. At 11:00 am, Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, MP, will be vetted for the position of Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives.

The afternoon session will feature Adjei Kenneth Gilbert, the Minister-designate for Works, Housing, and Water Resources, at 1:00 pm.

This will be followed by Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, MP, the Minister-designate for the Greater Accra Region, at 3:00 pm. The day’s proceedings will conclude with the vetting of Charity Gardiner, the Minister-designate for the Ahafo Region, at 5:00 pm.

The vetting process is a critical step to assess the nominees’ competence and suitability for their respective roles. It also plays a vital part in shaping the leadership of President Mahama’s administration and ensuring the effective governance of the country.
