A high-profile delegation from vegetable breeding and seed production giants — Rijk Zwaan and Holland Greentech– led by Mr. Edwin Johannes Maria Vanderklugt, Business Manager for the Middle East and West Africa, visited Fresh Logistics’ greenhouse farms at Dawhenya near Prampram in Accra on February 17, 2025.

The visit aimed to evaluate the performance of Rijk Zwaan seeds and explore deeper collaboration with Fresh Logistics, an agro-company engaged in the production, sales, and marketing of high-quality fresh vegetables, cultivated under strict quality control standards in greenhouses across Ghana.

The delegation was highly impressed with the outstanding results of the Mydaz, Loleza, Umagna, and Multi-Star vegetable varieties cultivated at Fresh Logistics’ farms. A standout moment was Fresh Logistics’ record-breaking yield in 2020, achieving 8 kg per plant for the Mydaz Cucumber Variety, the highest-ever yield recorded in Africa.

Mr. Boamah Okyere, Managing Director of Fresh Logistics, commended the Holland Greentech team for their ongoing technical support and lauded Rijk Zwaan for providing capacity-building opportunities in Holland, Senegal, and Tanzania for Fresh Logistics staff.

This visit highlights the growing collaboration between Agri-Impact Limited, Fresh Logistics, Rijk Zwaan, and Holland Greentech, reinforcing Ghana’s position as a key player in high-yield, innovative horticulture.
