The KGL Foundation has responded to the call of Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the Eve Medical Foundation to support the construction of a multi-million-dollar Women’s Wellness and Mental Health facility in the Ashanti Region.

This initiative aims to improve women’s health, mental well-being, and overall wellness.

The Eve Medical Foundation, established by Her Royal Highness Lady Julia Osei Tutu, is dedicated to addressing women’s health and mental health challenges. As part of its efforts, the foundation called for support to construct a facility to provide specialised care.

The KGL Foundation, which is committed to advancing mental health awareness in Ghana through its Mental Health Index Initiative, responded to this call and pledged its support to tackle mental health issues in Asanteman and beyond.

Speaking at the official handing-over ceremony of the construction project to De Simone Construction Company, the firm contracted by the KGL Foundation to build the facility, Lady Julia Osei Tutu expressed her excitement about the initiative. She highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing mental health challenges.

“I would like to thank Alex and the KGL group for coming to our aid as soon as we approached them. Mental health is something that has taken centre stage in our world these days. Unfortunately with our circumstances in our various countries, it’s been something that has been brushed under the carpet but it can not be there for much longer because it is an issue that affects every single person in our society so it needs to be taken seriously.

“Unfortunately with these challenges that we face, these issues get lost in our day-to-day approaches in life. So I am glad that the private sector has heeded our call and come to our aid to create something that will elevate our mental health,” She noted

Chairman of the KGL Group of Companies, Mr. Alex A. Dadey, also shared his enthusiasm for the partnership with the Eve Medical Foundation. He reaffirmed the KGL Foundation’s commitment to promoting mental health and emphasised the significance of such initiatives in transforming lives.

“We are so passionate about mental health and have been involved in some parts of the world, so the opportunity to set up a mental health facility in the country is greater. We are hoping to deliver within this year and KGL is very committed to doing that.”
