Michael Kwame Mumuni, the First Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region, has emerged victorious in the region’s Council of State elections.
He secured eight votes out of the 22 cast, making him the preferred choice to represent the region on the advisory body to the President.
The election, held at the Upper West Regional Electoral Commission headquarters, saw Dimah Gbene Iddrisu John finishing closely behind with seven votes.
Emmanuel Kudi Mwinila-Yuori secured three votes, while Alhaji Dauda Yahaya, Rayan Yussif, Mwinimaana Saaka Al-Moktar, and Kuoro Abu Diaka each received one vote.
The remaining candidates, Mohammed Ahmed, Kuoro Bareche Nlowie, Ibrahim Yakubu Kanda, and Deribaa Muinfo David, did not secure any votes.
A total of 22 assembly members participated in the voting process, which was part of a nationwide exercise to elect regional representatives for the Council of State.
