The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has assured Ghanaians of the government’s commitment to addressing the critical challenges facing the 37 Military Hospital.
In a Facebook post on Friday, February 14, Dr. Boamah shared insights from his working visit to the facility, where he was accompanied by the Chief of the Defence Staff and senior officers from the Ministry of Defence.
Describing the visit as a homecoming due to his medical background, he expressed gratitude for the warm reception from senior and junior colleagues, civilian employees, and patients.
Dr. Boamah noted that the visit was part of his broader objective to assess the challenges confronting the Ghana Armed Forces and develop tailored, cost-effective solutions.
Following his visit, he reaffirmed President John Dramani Mahama’s administration’s commitment to swiftly addressing the hospital’s most urgent issues to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare.
He emphasized the government’s determination to overcome these challenges as part of efforts to strengthen and revitalize the country’s institutions.
“This working visit forms part of my deliberate intention to actively immerse myself into the challenges of the Ghana Armed Forces in order to prescribe tailored and cost-effective solutions. The challenges are numerous but not insurmountable.
“Subsequent to my visit, President John Dramani Mahama Government is making frantic efforts to fix some urgent and critical challenges that are vital for the delivery of quality care at the hospital. As we reset Ghana, no problem will be too steep to overcome.”
