One person has been injured, and several properties, including three cars, have been destroyed following a violent clash between students of Kumasi Anglican Senior High School (KASS) and Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) in the Ashanti Region.
Confirming the incident to Channel One News, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ashanti Regional Education Directorate, Henry Osei Boateng assured that investigations are underway to identify those involved and ensure they face appropriate disciplinary actions.
According to Channel One News’ Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Fati Aminu Ibrahim, the clash occurred on Thursday, January 30, when students from KASS and KTI confronted each other at a common junction, leading to stone-throwing.
The violence resulted in damage to a vehicle belonging to an individual who had driven to KASS to lodge a complaint. Two other vehicles, as well as school properties—including a signpost, window blades, and sections of the school wall—were also vandalized.
Although calm has been restored, police personnel have been stationed at KASS to prevent further disturbances.
The PRO of the Ashanti Regional Education Directorate emphasized that investigations are ongoing, and students found culpable could face severe disciplinary actions, including possible withdrawal from their respective schools.
