Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC has officially inaugurated its maiden branch in the Volta Region’s capital, Ho.
The branch marks a significant step in the Bank’s mission to enhance financial accessibility, inclusivity and economic empowerment as part of its retail strategy.
The historic event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Togbe Anikpi, Dufia Ho-Heve, Special Guest of Honour, Hon. James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, traditional Chiefs, representatives of the Bank of Ghana, customers, prospects and other key stakeholders.

In his statement, Hon. James Gunu, with immense pride, praised Republic Bank for its investment in the region and encouraged local entrepreneurs to fully leverage the financial services and opportunities the Bank provides.
“This is my first official assignment since my appointment, and I am delighted to see this development. The government’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs aligns perfectly with the Bank’s presence here. I look forward to seeing Republic Bank play a crucial role in supporting market women and nurturing local businesses,” he emphasised.
Togbe Anikpi Dufia, Ho-Heve, expressed his excitement about the Bank’s arrival. Inhis address, he praised management for their vision. “Ho is growing rapidly, but youth unemployment remains a concern. I urge Republic Bank to concentrate on job creation and support local businesses. We are ready to collaborate and ensure this partnership promotes progress and prosperity for our community,” he stated.

Republic Bank’s Managing Director, Mr. Benjamin Dzoboku, highlighted the Bank’s remarkable journey and commitment to innovation, customer service, and community partnership. He shared the rich history of the over One Hundred and Eighty-Seven (187) years of existence of Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL), the parent bank of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC.
“This new branch underscores our resolve to support the people of Ho with tailored solutions, including SME, mortgage, investment, Credit Cards and retail banking services. We are not just a bank; we are a partner in progress,” he assured. ‘In Ghana, the Bank has demystified the notion that Credit Cards were the preserve of the elite in society by introducing the four Fantastic Credit Cards, which is a range of credit cards accessible to all income earners. Republic Bank pioneered the introduction of the Business Credit Card in Ghana,’ he urged the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the region to acquire one for their operating expenses.
In response to concerns about youth unemployment, Mr. Dzoboku acknowledged the dynamism of the youth in the Volta region, which he said inspired the Bank to recruit staff of the Ho branch, mainly from the region. “As a Bank that champions economic development, we recognize the immense potential within the Volta Region.
This branch is not just an expansion of our presence but a testament to our unwavering commitment to supporting the youth, women entrepreneurs and business owners. We are here to provide the necessary financial solutions that will propel businesses to greater heights, through our core values of Customer Focus, Integrity, Results Orientation, Respect for the Individual and Professionalism,” he mentioned.
Speaking on the Bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, Mr. Dzoboku stated that Republic Bank’s entry into Ho extends beyond financial services. The Bank is devoted to engaging with the community through impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education, Good Health and Well-Being, Water and Sanitation and Climate Action.
The grand event also saw an esteemed customer of the Bank, Mr. Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah attest to Republic Bank’s role in expanding his business to multiple countries. “Republic Bank has been a game-changer for my business, and I am confident their presence here will benefit many more entrepreneurs. This is a bank that sits with you to understand your business and fashion a financial solution for growth,” Mr. Kwamigah said.
The new Ho branch is set to provide a wide range of banking services, including business financing, digital banking solutions, mortgage facilities, and tailored products for women entrepreneurs. Republic Bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering innovative financial services that drive sustainable growth across Ghana.
The momentous occasion was also attended by the Executive Management of Republic Bank, Staff, and the media, all of whom bore witness to this significant chapter in the bank’s journey to support the economic development of Ho and beyond.
