The Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga, has called on all indigenes of the region to collaborate with his office to ensure effective development.
He emphasised that regardless of political affiliation or geographical location, it is the duty of every indigene to contribute to the region’s growth.
Speaking at a durbar organised to welcome him to the region after his swearing in by president John Dramani Mahama, Atanga urged residents to embrace a new era in the region’s approach to development.
“I will not entertain backbiting. What I will entertain are positive contributions. My doors are open to anyone willing to support the development of the Upper East Region. I do not want distractions that hinder progress,” he stated.
He reiterated that his office is non-political and welcomes ideas from all individuals committed to regional development.
“So whether you belong to the NDC or any other group, once you are from the Upper East Region, you have a stake in its development. If there is progress, we all benefit. If there is a problem, we all suffer. Anyone with a good idea to move this region forward should feel free to engage with my office,” he added.
