A youth group in the Ablekuma Central Municipality has commended President John Dramani Mahama for nominating Frank Nkansah as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), describing the decision as a step in the right direction.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, the group noted that Mr. Nkansah has long been a dependable ally of the youth and has consistently advocated for development in the municipality, particularly in areas such as job creation, sanitation, drainage, and infrastructure.
According to the group, his nomination has brought hope to many who have witnessed his dedication and sincerity in engaging with the youth and addressing the challenges facing the municipality.
His nomination is in line with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended by the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2017, and is currently pending approval by Assembly Members in the Ablekuma Central Municipality.
The group further appealed to the Assembly Members to endorse the nominee without delay to enable him to begin addressing the urgent needs of residents.
“We respectfully call on our Assembly Members to confirm Mr Nkansah. Ablekuma Central is at a turning point, and we need bold and visionary leadership to take us forward. We are confident that he will deliver,” the statement added.
The youth also pledged their full support for the nominee, promising to collaborate with him to bring about lasting change in the municipality.
The nomination of Frank Nkansah comes at a time when residents in the Ablekuma Central Municipality are grappling with mounting developmental challenges, and his confirmation is expected to bring renewed energy to the local assembly’s leadership.
