The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to launch a transformative initiative, the ‘Patriotic Institute’, in May 2025, as part of efforts to deepen ideological education, build capacity among its members, and enhance its contribution to national development.

This was revealed by the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, during the party’s recent nationwide tour in Takoradi.

According to Mr Kodua, the establishment of the Patriotic Institute marks a major step towards institutionalising political education within the party and empowering members with knowledge, leadership skills, and a renewed sense of patriotism.

“The Patriotic Institute will be the intellectual and ideological engine of the NPP. It will focus on leadership training, research, and the promotion of the party’s foundational principles — freedom, democracy, development, and service to Ghana,” he said.

He emphasised that the Institute will not only serve the needs of the party but will also be open to nurturing young leaders, public servants, and citizens committed to democratic values and national progress.

“This is about grooming a generation that understands governance, patriotism, and the spirit of service to country,” Kodua added.

The NPP’s Patriotic Institute is expected to offer a range of activities, including seminars, public lectures, political education courses, research publications, and policy analysis. It will also serve as a platform for engaging scholars, political leaders, and development practitioners from Ghana and abroad.

Party officials have described the upcoming launch as “timely and strategic” as the NPP continues to reposition itself for the future, focusing not only on winning elections but also on shaping the ideological and developmental discourse of Ghana.

As the NPP prepares for this historic launch in May, expectations are high among party members and political watchers alike, with many seeing the Patriotic Institute as a bold investment in the intellectual future of the party and the nation.

More details about the location, programmes, and leadership of the Patriotic Institute are expected to be unveiled at the launch event.
