Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi has been confirmed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

He previously served as the Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) of Obuasi under the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

Following President John Dramani Mahama’s nomination, Boadi’s recent victory comes after a decisive vote by Assembly Members within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.

He secured 55 votes out of the 56 votes cast, confirming his victory.

Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene urged the New Kumasi Mayor to prioritize decongesting the city, improve sanitation, and work to address key challenges at the Kejetia Market following his confirmation as the Chief Executive for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.

He said these issues continue to slow development in the Kumasi Metropolis and pledged that the Regional Coordinating Council will collaborate with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to address issues confronting residents.
