A Plus: NPP wanted to gag me because they gave me a job

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare-Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, says the erstwhile New Patriotic Party (NPP) attempted to silence him after offering him a government-related job.

Speaking on Channel One TV‘s Upside Down on Sunday, May 4, A Plus said the party expected his outspokenness to diminish once he was given a role, but he remained vocal, which led to the termination of his appointment.

“The problem with the NPP is that they gave me a job expecting that now that you are eating, don’t talk. But they didn’t tell me that when they were giving me the job. I like talking more than eating,” he said.

He explained that the job involved oil lifting at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST), but his constant criticism of the government quickly became a concern for party officials.

“One or two months into the business, they said I was talking too much. So they took the job away. As for pay, I got only one month,” he added.
