Former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame has been reported to the General Legal Council (GLC) by a private citizen, Daniel Ofosu-Appiah, over alleged unprofessional conduct.
The complaint relates to Dame’s role in the trial involving Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and businessman Richard Jakpa.
According to Ofosu-Appiah, Dame’s actions during the trial raised serious concerns about professional ethics and conduct.
Central to the petition is an audio recording released by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), during the trial which allegedly captured a conversation in which Dame attempts to influence the testimony of Richard Jakpa, one of the accused persons in the case.
Citing the recording, the petitioner argues that Dame’s conduct violated the ethical standards expected of legal practitioners and has therefore called on the General Legal Council to initiate disciplinary proceedings against him for what he terms as “professional misconduct.”
