Digital Strategist Maximus Ametorgoh has urged both small- and large-scale businesses to fully leverage social media platforms to grow their operations and safeguard their brands in the digital era.
Speaking during week four of the Citi Business Festival on-air series on the topic Digital Skills Needed to Survive in Today’s Economy, he underscored the importance of adopting a digital-first mindset to remain competitive in today’s fast-evolving marketplace.
He stressed that in an environment where most customers operate online, businesses must integrate technology into their operations to improve service delivery and accelerate growth.
He also cautioned against ignoring social media, warning that absence from digital platforms exposes businesses to risks such as brand impersonation and online fraud.
“For digital skills, I will say that, whether you are starting a new business or you are an existing business, you need to think digital because the customers are online so if you want to start a business, you need to think about how technology can enable your business grow faster to optimise your delivery of service.
“Sometimes when I hear some companies saying they are not on social media, I wonder why, because people are using your name to defraud other people and tarnishing your image as a brand, and you say you don’t want to be on social media. It all depends on the understanding at the top level,” he said.
Mr. Ametorgoh concluded by encouraging business leaders to invest in the right digital skills and build a strategic online presence to remain relevant and competitive.
