The first in a series of fora to be held as part of this year’s Citi Business Festival kicks off today, Thursday, June 12, 2025.
The forum is themed: “Global Tariffs Dispute – Navigating Ghana’s Recovery Strategy”and will be live on Channel One TV.
The event will bring together top economists, trade analysts, business leaders, and policymakers to examine how ongoing trade tensions between global economic powers are affecting developing economies like Ghana — especially in light of recent efforts to stabilise the country’s macroeconomic fundamentals.
Ghana, like many emerging markets, has been caught in the crosscurrents of shifting global trade policies, currency volatility, and rising protectionism. As the country works to consolidate its recovery aftetþr years of economic turbulence, the forum will explore what strategies Ghana can adopt to remain competitive and resilient in a world increasingly shaped by trade barriers and supply chain disruptions.
Discussions will also focus on:
•How global tariffs affect Ghanaian exports and imports,
•The impact of trade tensions on local industries and prices,
•Opportunities for Ghana to diversify its trade relationships and improve value addition in key sectors.
