A tragic shooting incident has left residents of Denase in the Afigya Kwabre North District of the Ashanti Region gripped with fear and panic, following the death of two people and injury of three others.

The injured victims were rushed to the Offinso Saint Patrick Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.

According to some residents and eyewitnesses, the incident occurred on Thursday night after several gunshots were fired, causing panic and chaos in the area.

While the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, some residents have alleged that it may have been a contract killing, further heightening fears in the community.

Kwabena Asamoah , Unit Committee Chairman for Denase Electoral Area

Kwabena Asamoah, Unit Committee Chairman for Denase Electoral Area indicated that the attack did not appear to be a case of armed robbery but rather a targeted assault on specific individuals travelling in a car.

He disclosed that a total of 14 bullets were fired during the incident, highlighting the intensity and severity of the attack.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the area, as the community has recorded similar attacks in the past.

As police work to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice, the community remains on edge, with growing concerns over safety and security in the area.

Meanwhile tension is mounting in Asawase following the fatal shooting of an unidentified man by unknown assailants on a motorbike, less than a week after the Kusasi Chief of the Ashanti Region was gunned down in the same area.

The man was shot by the assailants, believed to be two men on a motorbike, who opened fire before speeding off.
