A tragic collision between a Kia truck and a bullion van in Adanwomase, located in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region, claimed five lives on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
Among the deceased were two police officers assigned to escort the van.
Eyewitness Bright Ntem reported that the crash occurred when the driver of the bullion van attempted to overtake another vehicle while ascending a hill. In the process, the van collided head-on with an oncoming Kia truck, resulting in the fatal accident.
Emergency services responded to the scene, and investigations are underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
