Ablekuma North rerun: NPP will lose all 19 polling stations – Kalamu

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly, Kalamu Adamu Musah, has strongly pushed back against complaints from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the presence of National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign posters near a polling center in Odorkor, describing the protest as a sign of fear and a prelude to defeat.

The NPP had raised concerns about the NDC parliamentary candidate, Ewurabena Aubynn’s posters being mounted close to the Church of Pentecost polling station, calling it an unfair advantage. But in response, Mr. Musah dismissed the claims as baseless and accused the NPP of resorting to excuses ahead of the critical rerun.

“These are posters that were not done today. They have been done for over a week,” the MCE said. “It is not only peculiar to the NDC. Maybe one party’s own may outnumber the other. It is normal.”

He argued that both parties have had campaign materials displayed in various parts of the constituency and that the timing of the complaint was suspicious.

“I think it is one of their tactics. This is the same people who said they will not take part in the election, but you are seeing them taking part. So why will you trust the NPP?” he questioned.

Mr. Musah went on to declare that the NPP was sensing an imminent defeat and was attempting to shift blame in advance.

“They are just giving excuses. They are seeing the signs. They are very clear – they are losing all the 19 polling stations. I can assure you on that.”

The Ablekuma North constituency is expected to see a heated contest in the rerun, which has already drawn national attention. Electoral officials have not yet commented on the poster issue.
