The Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Alhassan Betintiche Ziblim as its new Acting Executive Director, effective June 16, 2025.

This appointment comes at a strategic time when GhLA is poised to deepen its efforts in promoting literacy and digital inclusion across the country through its public library network.

Mr. Ziblim brings over two decades of experience in Public Sector Administration, strategic management, banking, marketing, and finance to GhLA.

Prior to his appointment, he served as the Director of Administration at the Ghana Free Zones Authority, where he led the creation and management of a fully functional administrative department for over 12 years.

He also served as Secretary to the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee of the Ghana Free Zones Authority Governing Board of Directors from October 2017 to January 2025.

As Acting Executive Director, Mr. Ziblim aims to adopt strategic innovations for local and international partnerships aimed at revamping the public library network to become modern, inclusive, and resourceful.

His goals include:

– Establishing a Strong Welfare and Development Scheme: To promote capacity building, opportunities for professional growth, and the general well-being of GhLA staff.

– Reviewing GhLA’s Law: Collaborating with the Governing Board and the Ministry of Education to review GhLA’s over 50-year-old law to reflect its evolving role in national development.

– Transforming Public and School Libraries: Continuing a nationwide public and schoollibrary transformation program to enhance access to libraries, especially for children and students.

Mr. Ziblim holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (Finance option) and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon.

He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants Ghana. He is married and blessed with four (4) children.

Together with staff, he’s committed to establishing a strong welfare and development scheme to promote capacity building, opportunities for professional growth, and the general well-being of the hardworking staff of GhLA.

GhLA staff look forward to working with Mr. Ziblim as he leads the Authority towards a brighter future for Ghana’s libraries and communities.
