The Ghana Police Service has arrested Malcom Fraizer, also known as Nii Djan, in connection with a fatal altercation believed to have stemmed from a domestic dispute involving a former partner.

Fraizer was apprehended on July 1, 2025, following intelligence-led investigations by the National Operations Directorate (NOD) at the Police Headquarters. The breakthrough came after a video of the incident surfaced online, aiding officers in locating the suspect.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fatal incident occurred on April 1, 2025. During questioning, Fraizer reportedly confessed to physically confronting the deceased, citing anger over a relationship between the victim and his ex-wife.

The NOD Intelligence Unit tracked Fraizer using digital clues, showcasing the increasing role of online evidence and social media in modern policing.

Authorities say the case underscores the dangers of unresolved domestic conflicts and the emotional triggers that can escalate into violence. Though national statistics for 2025 are not yet finalised, domestic violence remains a persistent challenge across Ghana.

Fraizer remains in police custody and is assisting with further investigations. Under Ghanaian law, murder is a capital offence punishable by life imprisonment or the death penalty, though executions have not been carried out in recent years.
