The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has cautioned the public against engaging with unauthorised agents or relying on unverified information in matters relating to its services.
In a statement issued on Monday, August 18, the Ministry warned that submitting forged or fraudulent documents constitutes a criminal offence and will be reported to law enforcement authorities for action.
The Ministry advised that all official information and service updates are available only on its official website, accredited print and electronic media, and verified social media platforms. It further stressed that individuals seeking consular or other services should deal directly with designated officers at the Ministry or accredited Ghana Missions abroad.
The statement urged the public to report any suspicious activity or suspected fraud immediately to the Ministry or the nearest Ghana Mission for verification and follow-up.
On payments and fraud prevention, the Ministry reminded the public not to make payments to unauthorised individuals under any circumstances.
“Do not make payment to unauthorised individuals under any circumstances,” the statement said.
It further urged citizens to report suspicious activities or demands for extra payment through official contact channels to ensure proper service delivery.
