The Justine Senuvie Memorial Foundation, in collaboration with the Kpando Secondary School 99-year group, has presented 100 desks to the Kpando Senior High School as part of activities marking the official launch of the foundation.

Two female students of the school have also been awarded scholarships under the same project, aimed at promoting girl-child education and improving learning conditions on campus.

The foundation was established in August 2025 by family and loved ones in honour of the late Justine Elorm Aku Senuvie-Avle, who passed away on August 3, 2022. It was created to celebrate her life and work, uphold the values she lived by, excellence, empathy, and selflessness, and continue the causes she supported during her lifetime.

Beyond preserving her legacy, the foundation also seeks to provide closure and comfort for her children and loved ones.

As part of its mission, the foundation will provide regular support for Christian missionary organizations, make periodic donations of educational materials to selected institutions, sponsor academic excellence prizes in basic and secondary schools, and initiate philanthropic programmes to support the less fortunate.

Addressing the school’s management and students during the presentation ceremony, Bernard Avle, General Manager of Citi FM/Channel One TV and leader of the foundation, commended Kpando Senior High School for “championing discipline”, a quality he said “shaped Justine into a unique and valuable partner.”

Describing her as “an understated but very wise person,” he urged the students to see their time in school not merely as a path to grades but as an opportunity to be moulded into better individuals who will make a meaningful impact in the future.

Juliet Senuvie, sister of the late Justine, told Citi News that the foundation plans to build a “strong relationship” with Kpando Senior High School to uphold her sister’s values.

She explained that the donation of desks was aimed at addressing pressing infrastructure needs to enhance academic activities, while the scholarships were designed to encourage and support the education of girls.

Headmaster Charles Evans Apreku expressed gratitude to the foundation and its partners, describing the donation as timely in addressing the school’s furniture deficit.

He lauded the foundation’s interest in both the academic and moral development of the students, noting that such support contributes significantly to shaping a disciplined and productive student body.
