Melcom Ghana, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, has donated medical refrigerators to 25 healthcare facilities across the country to enhance medicine storage and improve service delivery.

The beneficiary institutions include the Ga North Municipal Hospital, Ga West Municipal Hospital, LEKMA Hospital, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Tarkwa Government Hospital, 37 Military Hospital, Tema General Hospital, and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, among others.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Melcom Group General Manager, Francis Sam, said the gesture reflects the company’s commitment to building healthier communities.

“This initiative began in 2013, and over the years, we have made various donations to support healthcare. Each year, we focus on a different need, and this year’s donation involves equipment valued at about $5,000 each,” he noted.

He added that the refrigerators will help maintain proper storage conditions for medicines and vaccines, ultimately contributing to a healthier Ghanaian population.

Public Relations Manager of the Ga East Municipal Hospital, Gloria Bentum, said the equipment will significantly boost healthcare delivery.

“This equipment is critical. It will improve our storage capacity and help us serve the public more efficiently — not just at our facility, but across all 25 beneficiary hospitals,” she said.
