MTN Ghana, a sponsor of the 2025 This is Ghana Exhibition, has assured exhibitors and patrons of uninterrupted digital transactions throughout the two-day event.
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Friday, August 29, 2025, Tony Boateng, Fintech Distribution Manager at MTN Mobile Money (MoMo), stated that the company had implemented robust measures to ensure a smooth, cashless experience.
“There is robust network connectivity, and we can assure the patrons that our system will not go down. We planned ahead just so that we could cater to some of these activities. For the vendors, we have teams available who will be able to onboard them onto the merchant platform,” Mr. Boateng stated.
He explained that MTN’s partnership with Citi FM and Channel One TV on the exhibition forms part of the company’s broader commitment to supporting indigenous businesses and advancing Africa’s digital agenda.
“MTN, as an African brand, believes in the African dream. When we see a platform like this bringing together indigenous businesses and entities, we believe it is a way of delivering our digital services while also empowering SMEs. The exhibition gives us an opportunity to engage vendors and educate customers on the benefits of going cashless,” he said.
Mr. Boateng added that the event would allow merchants to set up fully functional MoMo business accounts, enabling seamless payments without the need for physical cash.
“When people go to events like this, they often discover more and want to spend more. MoMo bridges that gap by giving them the convenience to pay instantly without looking for cash,” he noted.
The 2025 This is Ghana Exhibition will be held from Saturday, September 6, to Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra, showcasing indigenous businesses, creativity, and innovation.
