The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of Samuel Amoah, also known as Biggie, in connection with the gruesome murder of three people at Tuba Net-Link Estates, a community within Ngleshie Amanfro in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
Addressing journalists in Accra on Saturday, September 20, COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director General of the CID, revealed that the incident occurred on 19th May 2024, when police received a distress report about a violent attack at a residence.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of 39-year-old Alberta Hagan and two of her children, all lying in a pool of blood in their room.
A third child was found barely alive, suffering from multiple deep head lacerations and bleeding from the ear. Additionally, a five-month-old baby was discovered unharmed on a sofa in the living room. The injured child was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention, while the deceased were transported to the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation.
“Postmortem examinations confirmed that the victims died as a result of severe head injuries caused by assault,” COP Donkor stated.
Investigations later identified the prime suspect as Samuel Amoah, a man who had been cohabiting with Alberta Hagan and was in a romantic relationship with her. According to police, the relationship had recently deteriorated due to financial disagreements, which ultimately triggered a violent confrontation.
“In a fit of rage, the suspect attacked Alberta and the two children who witnessed the incident,” COP Donkor disclosed.
Following the attack, Amoah fled the scene and remained on the run for over a year. However, after months of sustained intelligence operations, he was apprehended on 17th September 2025 in Suhum, located in the Eastern Region.
During interrogation, Amoah confessed to the crime and expressed regret over his actions. He is currently in police custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations. He will soon be arraigned before the court to face multiple charges, including murder.
“The Ghana Police Service assures the public that this case is being handled with urgency and professionalism to ensure that justice is served for the victims and their families,” COP Donkor emphasised.
