Her Royal Majesty Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of the Asantehene

Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, praising her warmth and generosity of spirit.

Delivering the tribute on her behalf during the funeral rites in Kumasi on Thursday, September 18, Lady Julia expressed deep appreciation for the guidance and support she received from the late Queen Mother in managing the affairs of the Asantehemaa’s household.

“I will miss our various shared experiences, supporting you in the running of the Asantehemaa’s household,” she said.

In her emotional farewell, Lady Julia affectionately referred to the late Queen Mother as Kotokohemaa and obidombi3, underscoring the closeness of their relationship.

“Kotokohemaa [Asantehemaa], your obidombi3 [extremely generous person], says thank you for your warmth and generosity of spirit. Nana hemaa, in your absence, who will shower me with appellations and affirmations that made me feel so very special?”.

The tribute was among several delivered on the day as mourners gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, whose funeral rites have drawn dignitaries, chiefs, political leaders, and citizens from across Ghana and beyond.
