The Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to addressing critical concerns within the Mamponteng Municipality.
Her assurance comes in response to appeals from residents for the resumption of construction on the Mamponteng Jubilee Market project, which was initiated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2013.
According to the Kwabre East Municipal Assembly, the stalled market facility has deteriorated into a hideout for criminals, posing a threat to the safety of both residents and traders.
During a tour of the facility on Monday, September 29, the Vice President said that the Government would explore all possible avenues to secure funding and ensure the project’s completion.
“We need to explore all possible avenues to secure funding for the completion of the market. Let us come together to build the country in peace, and we will gradually complete all outstanding projects,” she said.
She also pledged that the educational needs of children in the municipality would be prioritised.
“The education of our children needs to be prioritised,” she stated
